Why do we need insulation?

An uninsulated home loses approximately (these are very rough figures and will vary with different house types and construction methods):

• 25% of its heat through the roof 
• Loft insulation 
• 33% through the walls 
• Solid wall insulation 
• 15% through the floors
• Underfloor Insulation 
• 15% through draughts
• Fraught proofing
• 20% through the windows.
